Manchester United defender Chris Smalling praised Paul Pogba for his effect on the team following a routine win over Fulham.
The French international scored twice at Craven Cottage as the Red Devils put the SW6 outfit to the sword on Saturday, running out 3-0 winners.
Yet again Pogba was the creative force behind everything Manchester United did going forward, pulling the Fulham defence one way and then the other with his passing and dribbling.
Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as caretaker manager the midfielder has scored eight goals and provided five assists, one of the key factors behind the club’s recent resurgence according to centre-back Chris Smalling.
“Paul has got everything, hasn’t he? And he is showcasing that,” Smalling told manunited.com.
“A big reason why we are in this form we are in is down to Paul, because he’s not just scoring goals, he is assisting goals and he is controlling games as well, so we are very lucky to have a player like him in our team.
”Especially at the start of the game, we wanted to isolate Anthony [Martial] against the full-back [Denis Odoi] and, after the joy he was getting in the first 10 minutes, we just wanted to feed him as soon as [we could] and you could see the quality he has got.“
United currently sit fourth in the table following the weekend’s results, one point ahead of Arsenal.
