The NFL Draft kicked off a three-day long marathon of picks on Thursday night with 32 picks in the first round.
When the NFL world gathered in Nashville, Tennessee for the annual NFL Draft, there was already a clear cut selection at the top. After that, it was all up in the air with all the options possible.
Last year it was Baker Mayfield kicking off the draft going to the Cleveland Browns. Mayfield’s showing in his rookie season, including the NFL rookie record for touchdown passes, set the tone for the entire first round. A record five quarterbacks went in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
2019 is considered a down year for the quarterback position, the top priority for NFL teams. It did not stop them from selecting four of them in the first round. This time Mayfield’s heir took followed suit with Kyler Murray selected as the first overall pick to the Arizona Cardinals. That came only a year after they selected Josh Rosen to be their long-term solution at quarterback.
Every year we have picks that confuse and picks that excite. Snap judgment of draft picks is an interesting endeavor. Evaluators, including myself, have been tracking this group for months, if not an entire year. Now is the time to give a quick look at how these players can impact their team.
