Blake Griffin will miss the start of the regular season due to knee and hamstring injuries.

The injury will put him out until at least the first week of November, as he continues a treatment and conditioning regimen “for left hamstring and posterior knee soreness.”

The timetable set means the Pistons will be without their best player for about the first 10 games.

Injuries have slowed Griffin down in recent years, as he has averaged only 55.3 games played in the last four seasons.

Griffin only missed a total of four games over four seasons between 2010 and 2014.
