Kaapo Kakko delivers insane Rangers performance

This is the kind of moment that makes the Rangers front office and fans salivate.

Kaapo Kakko, the 18-year-old Finnish winger the team took with the No. 2-overall selection in this year’s draft, contributed on all four of the Rangers’ goals — three assists, and then a highlight-reel overtime winner — during their 4-3 victory against the Wild’s prospects on Monday afternoon at the Traverse City tournament in Michigan.

On the game-winner, Kakko fought off a defender, circled the net twice, and then tucked the puck between the post and the Minnesota goalie’s right pad.

Vitali Kravtsov, the team’s first-round pick in 2018, had his first two goals of the tournament to go with three assists. His five points tie Rangers defenseman Adam Fox (two goals, three assists) for the tournament lead.

Goalie Igor Shesterkin had 20 saves.
