Lee Dixon delivered the damning verdict on struggling Unai Emery’s hopes at Arsenal as he declared: “If I was the board I would not give him any money in January.”

The former England defender questions whether the Spaniard knows what he wants from his players, accuses his team of making the same mistakes all season, believes that spending in January will not fix the problems – and accused Emery of making Granit Xhaka a scapegoat.
Emery was given a public vote of support by the Arsenal board twelve days ago, but Dixon said: “He cannot be under any illusion things have got to improve drastically.
