Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp blocks Rangers manager Steven Gerrard from signing Ryan Kent

LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp is set to block Steven Gerrard’s attempt to bring Ryan Kent back to Ibrox this summer.

Liverpool winger Kent spent last season at Rangers and went on to win the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.

Gerrard was keen to seal another loan deal with the 22-year-old forward in order to strengthen his squad, with Kent unlikely to break into the Liverpool first-team.

Despite the Rangers boss’ having a close connection with his former club, Klopp has blocked the move in order to have Kent as a back-up to his first-choice front three, and will give him a chance to impress during pre-season.

Another manager that seems to have missed out on a possible deal is Marcelo Bielsa, with the Leeds boss desperate to improve his already impressive squad this summer with nothing less than promotion the target for this season.
